Procurement Officer – Gwanda, Zimbabwe

About the role

The organization is seeking a Procurement Officer to manage the full procurement lifecycle for educational materials and equipment in Gwanda. You will work closely with internal departments to ensure timely, cost‑effective sourcing while maintaining compliance with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Identify needs, source suppliers, negotiate contracts and finalize purchases.
• Conduct market research to secure the best value for money.
• Prepare, review and process purchase orders in line with policies and financial regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of contracts, invoices and delivery notes for audits and reporting.
• Collaborate with departments to understand requirements and ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor supplier performance and manage vendor relationships.
• Analyze spending trends and produce reports to support strategic decisions and budgeting.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant local procurement laws and education sector regulations.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of proven experience in procurement or supply chain management.
• Strong knowledge of procurement principles, especially within the education sector.
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
• High integrity, ethical standards and a commitment to transparency.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within Gwanda and surrounding areas.

Required skills

• Proficiency with procurement software.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite for data analysis and reporting.
