Logistics Officer - Skip Fleet Coordination

About the role

A logistics officer is needed in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe to coordinate the daily deployment of skip trucks and drivers. The role covers scheduling skip deliveries, collections, exchanges and waste disposal, managing skip inventory and ensuring timely service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule skip deliveries, collections, exchanges and waste disposal operations, and allocate jobs to drivers while monitoring progress.
• Liaise with clients on bookings, service updates and job completion.
• Manage the movement and tracking of skips at customer sites and keep skip inventory up to date within a monitoring system.
• Supervise fleet utilization and coordinate vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain transport records, fuel usage records, driver logs and operational reports.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and road transport regulations, resolve operational issues quickly and maintain good customer service.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Transport & Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management or a related field.
• At least 2 years' experience in transport coordination, fleet management, logistics or operations.
• Sound knowledge of route planning and fleet scheduling.
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure.
• A valid Zimbabwean driver's licence is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
