Operations Officer - Skip Fleet Coordination

About the role

A skip truck and driver dispatch coordinator is needed in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. The role covers scheduling skip deliveries, collections, exchanges and waste disposal, coordinating the fleet and keeping customers informed.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the daily deployment of skip trucks and drivers, and schedule deliveries, collections, exchanges and waste disposal operations.
• Allocate jobs to drivers and monitor progress to ensure timely service delivery.
• Liaise with clients on bookings, service updates and job completion.
• Manage the movement and tracking of skips at customer sites.
• Supervise fleet utilization and coordinate vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain transport records, fuel usage records, driver logs and operational reports.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and road transport regulations, resolve operational issues quickly and keep the skip inventory up to date.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Transport & Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management or a related field.
• At least 2 years' experience in transport coordination, fleet management, logistics or operations.
• Sound knowledge of route planning and fleet scheduling.
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure.
• Valid Zimbabwean driver's licence is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
