Head of Equity Research

About the role

Frontier Axis Research is seeking a Head of Equity Research to lead its frontier and emerging markets research team. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on analytical work, delivering high‑quality insights that guide investors and decision‑makers.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the research team while contributing to the development of high‑quality analytical content on frontier and emerging markets.
• Build and maintain robust financial models, including three‑statement models, DCFs, and comparable analyses.
• Produce institutional‑quality research such as initiating coverage reports, earnings notes, and thematic insights.
• Conduct deep fundamental analysis across companies and sectors.
• Generate differentiated investment ideas supported by clear catalysts.
• Track macroeconomic, political, and policy developments across relevant markets.
• Engage with company management teams and industry stakeholders.
• Advise on investment strategies and support portfolio construction.
• Manage research initiatives and ensure timely, high‑quality output.
• Mentor and develop junior team members.
• Ensure all research outputs are impactful, credible, and aligned with institutional standards.

Required profile

• Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex market trends and macroeconomic variables.
• Expertise in financial modeling and related tools for equity and market forecasting.
• Proficiency in finance and investments with deep understanding of global frontier and emerging markets.
• Proven research capabilities using qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities for overseeing a research team.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for presenting findings to diverse stakeholders.
• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field (highly desirable).
• 3‑5 years of experience in emerging or frontier market research (significant advantage).
