About the role
We are looking for a motivated Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Intern to join our team at Hyatt Regency Harare. This placement offers hands‑on experience in occupational safety, environmental management and wellness initiatives within a leading hotel.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in conducting workplace safety inspections and hazard identification exercises.
- Support incident, accident, and near‑miss investigations and documentation.
- Help maintain safety records, reports, registers, and statistics.
- Participate in risk assessments and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist in monitoring compliance with safety policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Support emergency preparedness activities, including drills and evacuation exercises.
- Conduct safety inductions for new employees, contractors, and visitors under supervision.
- Assist in delivering safety training and awareness campaigns.
- Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and report non‑compliance.
- Support occupational health initiatives and workplace wellness programs.
- Assist in environmental management activities, including waste management and pollution control.
- Prepare safety reports, presentations, and toolbox talk materials.
- Participate in committee meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required profile
- Studying towards a Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Geography & Environmental Studies or related fields.
- Basic knowledge of occupational health and safety principles.
- Understanding of relevant health and safety legislation and standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
