About the role
UNICEF’s Zimbabwe Country Office is seeking a People and Culture Specialist to lead HR activities across the employee lifecycle. The role provides client‑focused advice, ensures policy‑compliant solutions and supports the implementation of strategic HR initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Manage people and culture activities in line with the P&C strategy and Country Programme Management Plan.
- Supervise the P&C team and coordinate recruitment, performance management and staff development processes.
- Promote diversity, equity and inclusion throughout the office.
- Provide end‑to‑end HR advice to an assigned client portfolio, addressing employee relations issues and ensuring transparent, fair outcomes.
- Use HR data and analytics to inform decisions and improve organisational effectiveness.
- Design and deliver coaching and learning initiatives to strengthen workforce capability.
Required profile
- Relevant experience in human resources or people‑and‑culture functions.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures and employment legislation.
- Ability to deliver timely, client‑focused advice and resolve people‑related issues.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Commitment to UNICEF’s mission and to fostering an inclusive workplace.
