Human Capital Officer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Human Capital Officer to join the Human Capital Management Division of CBZ Bank Limited. The role will support recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee relations across the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post job adverts on relevant recruitment portals.
• Screen candidates, shortlist with line managers and facilitate interviews.
• Conduct pre‑employment checks and maintain candidate documentation.
• Support monthly induction programmes and track contract renewals.
• Follow up on probation assessments and advise on disciplinary matters.
• Take minutes of disciplinary hearings and ensure proper record‑keeping.
• Assist with performance management system administration, KPI quality checks and scorecard submission.
• Provide administrative support for employee surveys, engagement initiatives and ad‑hoc HR projects.
• Compile HR metrics and generate reports for the Group Human Capital team.

Required profile

• Degree in HR Management, Human Capital Management, Psychology, Sociology, Social Sciences or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of HR experience, preferably in financial services with recruitment and selection exposure.
• Professional HR certification such as SHRM‑SCP, CIPD or IPMZ diploma.
• Good knowledge of HR systems, policies, disciplinary and grievance processes.
• Strong analytical ability and effective communication at all levels.
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with digital work tools.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
