Senior Processor

About the role

The Senior Processor will oversee the efficient operation of the designated tapping area during a shift at Unki Mines. This role ensures safe and effective tapping of matte and slag from the furnace while driving productivity and process efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Follow work instructions and work orders, applying recognised safety standards.
• Conduct daily inspections of tapping‑section equipment to ensure functionality.
• Maintain a clean and well‑organized tapping area.
• Operate the tapping section to meet agreed business plan and process parameters (quantity and quality).
• Assist the Tapping Supervisor with overall section operation.
• Identify and report unexpected problems to the Shift Foreperson.
• Proactively identify risks, threats and improvement actions for safety and performance.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 ‘O’ Levels.
• At least 10 years experience in PGM or base‑metal matte smelting and tapping.
• NEC Plant Operator Certificate (advantageous).
• Passed Tapping Procedures.
• Valid Fitness Certificate.
