About the role

Midlands State University is seeking four dedicated individuals to join its Catering Service Department as Porters. The role involves supporting the kitchen team by maintaining cleanliness, handling dishwashing, and ensuring a hygienic environment for food preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and all kitchen equipment.
• Clean kitchen work surfaces, floors, walls, and storage areas to a high standard.
• Dispose of waste and recycling in accordance with health and safety procedures.
• Uphold strict food hygiene and cleanliness standards throughout the catering area.

Required profile

• Minimum of three ordinary level (O‑level) passes.
• Certificate in housekeeping.
• At least one year of proven experience in a catering or food‑service environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills, team‑player attitude, and ability to accommodate customer needs.
• Attention to detail, ability to accept constructive criticism, and a presentable appearance.
• Trustworthy, energetic, time‑conscious, self‑motivated, patient, and good communication abilities.
