Restaurant Manager – Sushi Restaurant

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic, customer‑focused Restaurant Manager to lead the daily operations of a busy sushi restaurant. The role combines operational oversight, team leadership and a strong focus on food quality and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day restaurant operations and ensure smooth service delivery.
• Lead, supervise and motivate front‑of‑house and kitchen teams.
• Monitor food quality, presentation, hygiene and compliance with food safety standards.
• Control stock levels, ordering, wastage, cash handling and daily operational controls.
• Handle customer queries and complaints professionally while maintaining high service standards.
• Track sales performance and implement initiatives to improve revenue and profitability.
• Prepare staff schedules, manage attendance and ensure adequate staffing during peak periods.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Business Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in restaurant management, preferably in a premium sushi or Japanese restaurant.
• Proven ability to lead and develop diverse teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication, customer service, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong commercial awareness with the capacity to drive sales and manage operational costs.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of restaurant operations and food safety regulations.
• Experience with stock control, cost management and waste reduction.
• Ability to analyse sales data and implement profitability initiatives.
