Assistant Financial Accountant

About the role

A mining or manufacturing company in Shurugwi, Zimbabwe is looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant. The role covers financial reporting, payroll, record keeping and audit support, with strong emphasis on IFRS and IAS compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse financial data in strict adherence to IFRS and IAS
• Manage comprehensive payroll functions and ensure timely, accurate processing of employee compensation
• Use advanced ERP systems, including SAP Financial Accounting, together with Microsoft Office
• Oversee financial processes in line with mining or manufacturing safety protocols such as NOSA and ISO systems
• Communicate clearly on financial matters verbally and in writing across all levels
• Maintain accurate financial records and support audits

Required profile

• First degree in Accounting or equivalent from a reputable tertiary institution
• At least 3 years of post-qualification experience in a mining or manufacturing environment
• CIMA or ACCA is a distinct advantage
• Clean Class 4 driver's licence

Required skills

• Working knowledge of IFRS and IAS
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and an ERP system, preferably SAP (Financial Accounting module)
• Knowledge of payroll management
• Working knowledge of mining safety systems, preferably NOSA and/or ISO
• Ability to communicate at all levels, verbally and in writing
