Preconstruction Manager

About the role

The Preconstruction Manager leads a team of preconstruction coordinators to support project pursuits, preconstruction planning, and construction execution across a variety of alternative procurement methods. This role ensures smooth process flow, profitability, and risk reduction for the company.

Key responsibilities

• Identify project needs, develop resources, and implement tailored preconstruction processes for procurement activities.
• Support project life‑cycle phases—pursuit, preconstruction, and construction—especially for Design‑Build, CMGC, CMAR, GCCM, and Progressive Design‑Build projects.
• Manage direct and indirect reports, establishing best practices, systems, and procedures that increase profitability and reduce risk.
• Advise project teams on prime contracts, schedules, budgets, and design agreements to ensure compliance and efficient execution.
• Evaluate and develop preconstruction tools, resources, and software to improve capture rates and profitability.
• Provide guidance on alternative procurement strategy and proposal development to build a profitable backlog.
• Represent the company at regional and national conferences, promoting best practices and leadership in alternative procurement delivery.
• Allocate resources and manage preconstruction budgets aligned with strategic objectives.
• Maintain relationships with engineering partners, owners, and industry stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; Civil Engineering or Engineering Management preferred.
