Construction Project Manager

About the role

The Construction Project Manager (CPM) oversees multiple small to medium‑sized construction projects such as office and grounds remodels, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget. The CPM works independently on most assignments and may support larger projects under senior guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop project management plans, schedules, and milestones in collaboration with contractors.
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and unit‑cost reports; monitor project costs and approve contractor pay requests.
• Negotiate and prepare subcontracts, change orders, and manage procurement of materials and equipment.
• Coordinate with contractors, architects, local authorities, and internal departments to secure permits and ensure compliance with specifications and Church standards.
• Lead pre‑award, pre‑construction, and coordination meetings; monitor quality, safety, and risk management plans.
• Oversee project close‑out procedures, including as‑built drawings and final documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing small to medium construction projects.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with contractors, consultants, volunteers, and internal teams.
• Strong understanding of construction regulations, permitting processes, and quality standards.
