EU-Africa Space Policy & Institutional Expert (Non-Key)

About the role

We are looking for a highly qualified Non‑Key Expert to support the “Support to the Africa‑EU Space Partnership Programme – AESPP Boost”. The expert will facilitate policy dialogue and institutional cooperation between European and African stakeholders, strengthening the emerging African space ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate policy dialogue between EU and African Union institutions on space matters.
• Support programme governance, steering mechanisms and inter‑institutional steering groups.
• Provide advisory input on EU space policy and African space governance structures, including AfSA, AUC and regional economic communities.
• Facilitate knowledge exchange, innovation and private‑sector engagement within the partnership.
• Prepare briefing notes, reports and recommendations for senior decision‑makers.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in international relations, public policy, law, political science, space policy or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in international cooperation, public policy or institutional advisory work.
• At least 4 years of experience working on EU and/or African Union policy frameworks and institutional processes.
• Excellent command of English; working knowledge of French and/or Portuguese is an asset.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of EU space policy and African space governance architecture.
• Experience with inter‑institutional dialogue, programme governance and steering mechanisms.
• Strong analytical and report‑writing abilities.
