About the role
The Deputy Representative supports the UNFPA Representative in leading the formulation and delivery of the UNFPA country programme in Zimbabwe. This senior position oversees day‑to‑day operations, provides strategic guidance, and acts as Officer‑in‑Charge when the Representative is absent.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of the integrated UNFPA programme, ensuring alignment with national development priorities and the ICPD agenda.
- Assess demographic trends and advise government, civil society and partners on population, sexual and reproductive health and gender issues.
- Mobilise and manage financial and human resources, prepare programme and financial reports, and ensure compliance with UNFPA rules.
- Build and maintain partnerships with national authorities, donors and UN agencies, advocating for UNFPA goals and South‑South cooperation.
- Oversee technical assistance to partners, supervise staff, and promote capacity development at the country level.
