About the role
The Programme Analyst, Gender & GBV is based in the UNFPA Country Office in Harare. Reporting to the Programme Coordinator for Gender Equality/GBV/Human Rights, the analyst supports the design, implementation and monitoring of UNFPA programmes that promote gender equity and prevent gender‑based violence, especially among adolescents, women and key populations in both humanitarian and development contexts.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to the formulation and design of the country programme and annual work plans, ensuring alignment with government priorities and UNFPA policies.
- Support and coordinate project implementation, establishing collaborative relationships with executing agencies, government counterparts and UN partners.
- Monitor programme results, financial expenditures and disbursements, ensuring compliance with approved budgets and reporting requirements.
- Analyse political, social and economic trends to identify opportunities for UNFPA intervention and provide inputs for policy dialogue.
- Facilitate knowledge management by documenting lessons learned, best practices and emerging trends for use in future planning.
- Assist national partners in generating quality gender/GBV data and analyses for evidence‑based decision‑making.
- Participate in UN coordination mechanisms (e.g., Joint UN Team on Gender/GBV) and support joint activities among UN agencies.
- Advise the Country Office on the specific needs of adolescents and persons with disabilities regarding gender and GBV.
