Temple Facilities Manager 2

About the role

The Temple Facilities Manager 2 oversees the operation, maintenance and financial stewardship of a large temple complex and its ancillary buildings. This role ensures that all facilities remain functional, safe and aligned with the organization’s standards during both peak usage and periods of closure.

Key responsibilities

• Manage department labor costs, contracts and third‑party relationships.
• Develop and execute an annual budget and operational plan covering project costs, preventative maintenance and repairs of electrical, mechanical, audio‑visual and computer systems.
• Maintain approximately 70,000 sq ft of temple and related structures, including patron housing, visitor centre, president’s residence and training facilities.
• Provide regular project status updates, oversee procurement, and ensure close‑out documentation such as as‑built drawings and warranty letters.
• Monitor project schedules to meet approved timelines and enforce compliance with design and standards.
• Implement and test maintenance guides, improve methods, and evaluate new equipment.
• Lead a team of 10‑20 employees, handle hiring, performance management and professional development.
• Coordinate with temple leadership, architects, contractors and local authorities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in facilities or building management, preferably in large, multi‑use complexes.
• Strong financial acumen with experience budgeting, cost control and contract management.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, capable of supervising mixed workforces and driving performance.
• Excellent communication abilities to interact with senior leaders, external partners and regulatory bodies.
