People & Culture Lead

About the role

Paynow is seeking a proactive People & Culture Lead to shape and scale its people strategy as the company enters a critical growth phase. The role will provide strategic and operational leadership across the full employee lifecycle, ensuring the attraction, development, and retention of high‑performing talent.

Key responsibilities

• Lead recruitment, selection, onboarding, and retention initiatives.
• Drive organisational culture, employee engagement, and change‑management programmes.
• Implement and manage performance management systems, including development plans and PIPs.
• Oversee HR operations such as contracts, payroll support, benefits administration, leave, and employee records.
• Maintain accurate and compliant HRIS/HRIMS systems and reporting.
• Provide guidance on labour law, employee relations, disciplinary matters, and HR best practice.
• Support workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning.
• Conduct employee engagement surveys, exit interviews, and turnover analysis to improve retention.
• Partner with leadership to identify training and development needs.
• Ensure HR policies, procedures, and communications align with business goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration or related field.
• 6–8 years of experience in HR/People & Culture management.
• Proven expertise in recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
• Strong understanding of organisational development and culture transformation.
• Experience in high‑growth, fast‑paced digital or fintech environments.
• High integrity, professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Required skills

• Experience with HRIS/payroll platforms such as Belina.
• Experience with PeopleHum or similar HR analytics systems.
