Trade Manager

About the role

The Trade Manager will lead the External Sales and Telesales team for a leading national retailer, driving sales growth through strong customer and supplier relationships. Based on‑site in Kwekwe, the role combines trade operations oversight with strategic market analysis to optimise profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with customers and suppliers to expand market presence.
• Identify new sales opportunities through networking and market research.
• Oversee quotations, tenders, pricing, order fulfilment and after‑sales support to ensure professional service.
• Coordinate with internal departments to guarantee product availability and efficient delivery.
• Monitor sales performance, market trends and competitor activity to spot growth opportunities.
• Lead, coach and motivate the sales team, setting clear performance expectations.
• Prepare and review trade performance reports and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

Required profile

• Degree in a commercial field such as Sales, Marketing or Business Management.
• Demonstrated experience in trade management or commercial operations, preferably in a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Strong analytical and numeracy abilities with the capacity to interpret market data and performance reports.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills with a proven track record of stakeholder relationship building.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, organise workload and make data‑informed decisions.
