Till Operator – Fixed-Term (4 months) at KweKwe Campus

About the role

The KweKwe Campus of Midlands State University is seeking a reliable Till Operator on a four‑month fixed‑term contract. You will be the front‑line point of contact for customers, ensuring smooth and accurate transaction processing while delivering courteous service.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers, assist with purchases and answer queries in a professional manner.
• Operate the cash register efficiently: scan items, process payments, issue receipts or refunds, give change and balance the till.
• Maintain constant presence at the till to support timely transactions.
• Follow Front‑End department procedures, service standards, turnaround times and hygiene requirements.
• Apply product knowledge to upsell promotions and relay customer feedback to management.
• Assist with packing items, restocking shelves and keeping the store appearance tidy.
• Adhere to cash‑handling, security and personal grooming policies.
• Participate in performance reviews, training programmes and demonstrate teamwork.

Required profile

• Minimum of five ‘O’ level certificates including Mathematics and English.
• At least two years’ experience operating a till in a retail FMCG environment.
• Certificate in Till Operating.
