Sports Officer – Kwekwe Campus

About the role

The Sports Officer will manage the administration of sporting activities on the Kwekwe campus, supporting both students and staff. Reporting to the Sports and Recreation Coordinator, the role contributes to the overall student experience in sport and recreation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Sports and Recreation Coordinator in implementing the departmental plan for the campus.
• Administer and implement sports activities, coaching standards, and event calendars.
• Organise and promote a variety of sports events for students and staff.
• Manage student sport recruitment, training schedules, and performance assessments.
• Collaborate with student organisations and external partners to enhance sports initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all sports activities.
• Monitor participation rates, gather feedback, and recommend program improvements.
• Use social media, newsletters and campus events to promote sports programmes and encourage involvement.

Required profile

• A relevant first degree, preferably in Sports, Business Sciences or a related field.
• At least one year of experience in a sport‑related environment within a university or tertiary institution.
• A sports coaching qualification is an advantage.
