Regional Operations Manager

About the role

She Recruits is seeking an energetic and commercially‑astute Regional Operations Manager to oversee a portfolio of food‑retail stores across Zimbabwe, primarily in and around Bulawayo. This hands‑on, field‑based role involves frequent travel, close collaboration with store managers, and a focus on driving sales, profitability and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Take operational responsibility for a portfolio of stores, conducting regular site visits.
• Drive sales, profitability and operational efficiency across the region.
• Analyse store performance, P&L statements and financial results to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Work with Store Managers to manage costs, reduce waste and maximise margins.
• Ensure consistent execution of operational standards, processes and customer service.
• Monitor labour, stock, wastage, shrinkage and other operational costs.
• Identify under‑performing stores and implement turnaround plans.
• Coach and hold Store Managers accountable for operational and financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, quality and company standards.
• Support new store openings, operational projects and business growth initiatives.
• Provide senior management with insight into regional performance, challenges and opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven multi‑site operational management experience within food retail or QSR environments.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including interpretation of P&Ls, income statements and key cost drivers.
• Demonstrated ability to use financial and operational data to improve store performance.
• Experience managing and developing Store Managers and operational teams across multiple locations.
• Understanding of stock management, wastage control and labour cost optimisation.
