Operations Officer – IFC (Harare)

About the role

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is seeking an Operations Officer to support its Country Advisory and Economics Team for the Eastern and Southern Africa region. Based in Harare, you will contribute to the delivery of country economic diagnostics, strategy development, and engagement products that underpin IFC’s investment activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in producing regional and country‑level economic assessments, including Country Private Sector Diagnostics (CPSDs) and IFC Country Strategies.
• Support the team in diagnostic and strategic work that informs IFC operations and World Bank Group policy.
• Collaborate with economists, regional colleagues, and industry experts to develop analytical products.
• Contribute to the improvement of private‑sector ecosystems in low‑income and fragile states.
• Provide direct support to operational teams and country units as needed.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in economics, development studies, or a related field.
• Experience in economic analysis, diagnostics, or strategy formulation is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
