Operational Risk Advisor

About the role

The Operational Risk Advisor will support Valterra Platinum’s mining and processing sites in Shurugwi by implementing and executing the company’s Operational Risk Management (ORM) framework. This role ensures that risk controls are embedded in daily activities and that risk performance is monitored and reported to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Support and coordinate the four layers of ORM – baseline, issue‑based, task and continuous risk management – across the operation.
• Advise on skills development for employees and contractors to achieve excellence in operational risk management.
• Implement and maintain the operational risk information management platform.
• Report, monitor and track operational risk performance, producing regular site‑specific risk reports for managers, risk owners and control owners.
• Provide risk‑based input to operational planning, audit follow‑up and incident learning processes.
• Routinely advise line managers and leaders on risk performance and required actions.
• Build and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships to support risk initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Valterra Platinum internal standards and governance requirements.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or diploma in Safety, Occupational Health, Risk Management or a related discipline.
