About the role

The Mission Home Custodian provides essential custodial services for Church facilities in Harare, ensuring a clean, safe, and reverent environment for worship, learning, and community activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform journey‑level custodial duties, including cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and floor care using buffers and carpet cleaners.
• Maintain a neat and hygienic home environment for missionaries: make beds, do laundry, and arrange living spaces.
• Set up and break down meeting rooms, replace draperies, chandeliers, and lights as requested.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment safely and follow all safety and equipment‑usage training.
• Report maintenance issues to the facilities management team and maintain good public relations.
• Use cleaning agents and chemicals with appropriate personal protective equipment.

Required profile

• Current and valid temple recommend or eligibility to obtain one.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb, work on stairs, and perform physical tasks such as bending, crawling, and reaching.
• Proficient in English for verbal and written communication.
• Capable of working unsupervised and following directions from mission leaders and the facilities manager.

Required skills

• Operation of buffers, carpet cleaners, vacuums, and other custodial equipment.
• Basic computer skills for reporting and task prioritisation.
• Cleaning at heights and handling of cleaning chemicals with PPE.
