Quantity Surveyor

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor will work full‑time on‑site in Harare, supporting construction projects from inception to completion. The role focuses on accurate cost planning, budgeting and reporting to ensure projects are delivered within financial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and conduct detailed cost estimates.
• Monitor project budgets, track expenditures and analyse cost variances.
• Provide cost planning, forecasting and progress reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
• Advise project teams on cost efficiency, financial risks and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects and site managers to align design with budgetary constraints.
• Prepare tender documents and evaluate contractor claims.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of cost‑management processes.

Required profile

• Strong cost‑control and cost‑management abilities with a focus on budget monitoring.
• Proficiency in preparing and interpreting BOQs, including quantity take‑offs and measurement.
• Experience in cost planning, cost reporting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Relevant degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field.
• Knowledge of construction contracts, tendering procedures and industry‑standard measurement methods.
• Effective communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
