Electrician Class 2 – Shurugwi

About the role

Valterra Platinum is seeking a qualified Electrician Class 2 to join its mining operation in Shurugwi, Zimbabwe. The role involves maintaining, installing, and commissioning electrical components of machinery and equipment to ensure safe and reliable production.

Key responsibilities

• Perform safe maintenance tasks to support production performance.
• Maintain work area housekeeping standards and ensure all safety devices are operational.
• Conduct and participate in risk assessments and attend to breakdowns or emergencies.
• Complete checklists, inspections, and job cards with accurate descriptions of work and spares used.
• Ensure availability of materials, spares, and equipment required for tasks.
• Supervise and coach subordinates and apprentices, providing on‑the‑job training.
• Report any contraventions of Mining (Management and Safety) Regulations and related codes of practice.

Required profile

• Minimum five ‘O’ Level subjects including Mathematics, English and Science.
• Certified Competent Electrician Class 2 or higher.
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Familiarity with SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) systems.
