Climate Finance Analyst

About the role

The client is looking for an in‑country Climate Finance Analyst to support the establishment and operationalisation of a Climate Finance Unit (CFU) and related climate finance systems within a public‑sector finance environment. The role will combine technical delivery, programme coordination and stakeholder engagement to strengthen climate finance tracking and investment readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and operationalise Climate Budget Tagging (CBT) systems, datasets and monitoring tools.
• Prepare technical documentation, presentations, reports and workshop outputs across programme workstreams.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities, workshops, training sessions and consultations related to climate finance systems.
• Monitor, track and report climate finance allocations, expenditures and programme activities from public and private sources.
• Support climate finance pipeline development, including project screening, investment readiness and project preparation.
• Assist with programme management, scheduling, reporting and delivery tracking.

Required profile

• Experience supporting public‑sector consulting, development programmes or institutional strengthening initiatives.
• Background in climate finance, sustainable finance, ESG, development finance or public financial management.
• Proven ability to handle technical reporting, programme coordination and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience preparing technical documents, presentations, reports, datasets or implementation materials.
