Head of Bancassurance

About the role

CBZ Bank Limited is seeking a dynamic leader to head its Bancassurance function. You will be responsible for shaping and executing the Bancassurance strategy, aligning it with the bank’s retail and insurance objectives, and driving sustainable revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive Bancassurance strategy that supports cross‑selling, customer penetration, and profitability.
• Lead business development initiatives to expand the Bancassurance portfolio across all distribution channels.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with customers, insurance partners, regulators, and key stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with CBZ Insurance, CBZ Life, and Retail Banking teams to maximise cross‑selling opportunities.
• Monitor sales performance, market trends, and portfolio growth, applying corrective actions to meet targets.
• Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, risk‑management standards, and internal policies.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing team, fostering a strong sales and service culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Marketing or related field.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance or related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as CFP, CII, CIP or equivalent.
• 7‑10 years of progressive experience in banking and insurance, with specific exposure to Bancassurance roles.
• Deep knowledge of insurance products, distribution models, regulatory frameworks and risk management.
• Proven business development, relationship management and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Strong leadership, analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with excellent communication skills.
