Class 2 Electrician – Mining Operations

About the role

Valterra Platinum is seeking a Class 2 Electrician to join its mining operation in Shurugwi. The role involves maintaining, installing and commissioning electrical components on plant and equipment to ensure reliable production. You will work on a high‑performance team focused on safety, sustainability and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Perform safe maintenance tasks to support production performance.
• Maintain work area housekeeping standards and ensure all safety devices are operational.
• Conduct risk assessments, attend breakdowns and emergencies as required.
• Complete checklists, inspections, job cards and record spares used.
• Ensure availability of materials, spares and equipment for planned maintenance.
• Report any contraventions of Mining (Management and Safety) Regulations.
• Coach and train sub‑ordinates and apprentices on‑the‑job.

Required profile

• Five “O” Level subjects including Mathematics, English and Science.
• Certified Competent as an Electrician Class 2 or higher.
• Minimum of 1 year relevant experience in a mining or industrial setting.
• Familiarity with SHEQ systems and basic safety regulations.
