Cargo Supervisor – Harare

About the role

As a Cargo Supervisor you will be the main point of contact for operational matters, managing the cargo warehouse and freighter ramp at Etihad’s Harare station. You will plan and oversee key activities, routes and products to meet performance targets such as OTP, eAWB and SLA commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Drive and improve freighter on‑time performance by coordinating ramp operations and supervising freight handling.
• Support and plan complex cargo loads for passenger and freighter flights, ensuring safe and secure handling.
• Provide on‑the‑job training and coaching to GHA staff to raise skill and confidence levels.
• Conduct regular safety and security inspections in line with SMS guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Establish best‑practice procedures to achieve revenue targets, cost savings and compliance.
• Handle special services and VIP shipments from acceptance through to customer delivery.
• Process purchase requisitions, purchase orders and goods receipt notes in SAP and verify supplier invoices.
• Escalate medium or higher‑level risks to appropriate management.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of cargo operations experience or equivalent.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Familiarity with cargo handling processes, procedures and regulatory compliance.
• Understanding of computer airfreight specifications.
• Industry training in Dangerous Goods, Cargo Operations, Security or Quality is an advantage.
