Business Development Manager

About the role

ZB Asset Management, part of ZB Financial Holdings, is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead growth of Funds Under Management, revenue and market share. The role focuses on acquiring and retaining institutional, corporate, high‑net‑worth, retail and offshore clients while shaping tailored investment solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Drive business development initiatives to meet approved FUM, revenue, market‑share and client‑acquisition targets.
• Identify, develop and convert new opportunities across institutional, corporate, high‑net‑worth, retail and diaspora segments.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients, investment mandates and strategic partnerships.
• Prepare and deliver investment proposals, presentations, pitches and RFP responses.
• Translate client objectives, risk appetite and liquidity needs into appropriate investment solutions in collaboration with the investment team.
• Develop distribution arrangements with local, regional and international asset managers.
• Coordinate client onboarding and ensure compliance with KYC, AML and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities to support growth.
• Represent ZB Asset Management at client meetings, roadshows, industry forums and networking events.
• Manage selected client portfolios, including strategy, asset allocation, security selection, rebalancing and performance monitoring within delegated authority.
• Participate in investment strategy formulation and Investment Committee processes, escalating matters beyond delegated authority.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Investment Management, Economics, Business, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification or progress towards CFA or equivalent is an advantage.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in asset management, investment management, institutional business development, advisory or wealth management.
• Demonstrated success in business development, client relationship management and investment‑mandate origination.
