Portfolio Manager

About the role

The Portfolio Manager is responsible for overseeing client portfolios, delivering performance reporting, and driving alternative investment initiatives. The role combines analytical rigor with client engagement to ensure portfolios meet benchmarks and client objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly portfolio performance reports, including return attribution, benchmark comparisons, and commentary.
• Monitor portfolio performance continuously, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide timely feedback to clients on performance, market developments, and alternative investment projects.
• Support client relationship activities, attend meetings, respond to queries, and assist in presentations and reviews.
• Liaise with fund administrators, custodians, and back‑office teams to ensure accurate valuation and smooth execution.
• Identify, originate, and evaluate alternative investment opportunities such as private equity, infrastructure, real assets, and structured investments.
• Conduct investment appraisals, including financial modelling, due diligence, risk analysis, and prepare memoranda for Investment Committee review.
• Project‑manage approved alternative investment transactions, coordinating internal and external parties.
• Monitor performance and risk of alternative investments and recommend portfolio actions.
• Participate in Investment Committee meetings and ensure compliance with policies, mandates, and regulatory requirements.
• Support audit processes by providing required portfolio and investment information.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Investment Management or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as CFA, CIS, ACCA or equivalent is an advantage.
