Metallurgical Assay Technician – University Lab

About the role

The Metallurgical Assay Technician will support the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at the Zvishavane Campus by performing laboratory analyses, supervising practical sessions, and assisting academic research projects.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out metallurgical assay laboratory work, including sampling and testing using analytical equipment and instruments.
• Coordinate and supervise laboratory practical sessions and research projects.
• Assist students and academic staff with research activities and third‑stream income projects.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the department.

Required profile

• ND/HND or degree in Metallurgical Assaying or a related field.
• Laboratory experience is an advantage.
• Commitment to university service, research and community engagement.

Required skills

• Metallurgical assay techniques.
• Sampling and analytical testing procedures.
• Operation of laboratory equipment and instruments.
