Human Resources Assistant

About the role

AGL (Africa Global Logistics), a multimodal logistics operator now part of the MSC Group, is hiring a Human Resources Assistant in Harare, Zimbabwe. This is a full-time temporary position providing administrative, operational and employee support to the HR function so that HR policies, procedures and people initiatives are implemented effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HR administrative support.
• Administer HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, employee movements and exits.
• Support industrial relations matters such as disciplinary, grievance and employee engagement processes.
• Help ensure compliance with labour laws, company policies and statutory requirements.
• Maintain and update the HR Information System (HRIS) and generate HR reports.
• Support payroll administration by preparing and verifying payroll inputs.
• Coordinate employee development and wellness activities.
• Assist in organizing Works Council meetings and other employee relations forums.
• Prepare HR correspondence, reports and workforce analytics using Microsoft Office.
• Provide professional support to employees and management on routine HR matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or Industrial Psychology.
• Membership or eligibility for membership with a recognized HR professional body is a must.
• Minimum 2 years of HR experience, preferably in transport, logistics or supply chain.
• Strong knowledge of labour legislation, industrial relations and HR compliance.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented and able to maintain confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency in HR Information Systems (HRIS).
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
