Operations & Administration Coordinator

About the role

The Biotech Institute, an ISO/IEC 17025:2017‑accredited hybrid academic‑biotech institute, is seeking a mature, self‑driven professional to run day‑to‑day operations across its two Harare branches. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Coordinator will ensure that controlled procedures are followed so scientists can focus on their research.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee HR administration, facilities management, IT support and client services.
• Coordinate events and facilitate communication between departments and sites.
• Maintain document control and quality management procedures in line with ISO standards.

Required profile

• Degree in HR Management, Business Administration, Operations Management or a related field (IPMZ membership advantageous).
• Minimum 5 years private‑sector experience in operations, administration or HR, including at least 2 years coordinating across departments or sites.
• Working knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025 or ISO 15189) and Zimbabwean labour law.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft 365 proficiency, including Excel, SharePoint and OneDrive administration.
• Strong drafting, report‑writing and organisational abilities with discretion for confidential information.
