Accounts Executive – Finance & Commodity Trading

About the role

We are looking for a highly capable and detail‑oriented Accounts Executive to join our newly established company in Harare. The role is central to building a robust financial foundation for a fast‑paced commodity and agricultural trading business.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate books of accounts using accounting software and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable, payroll, daily bank reconciliations and general ledger.
• Ensure full compliance with ZIMRA regulations (VAT, Corporate Tax, PAYE, Withholding Tax) and submit tax returns on time.
• Handle financial aspects of commodity procurement, sales and trading contracts, tracking pricing, currency impact and cost allocation.
• Conduct regular stock counts, maintain real‑time inventory valuation (FIFO, LIFO or weighted average) and investigate discrepancies.
• Process high‑volume transactions in real time, maintain audit trails and support automation initiatives.
• Generate management reports and support internal control frameworks.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with accounting software.
• Thorough understanding of Zimbabwean tax law and statutory compliance.
• Proven experience in commodity or agricultural trading environments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under time‑sensitive conditions.
