Head of IT Infrastructure

About the role

The Head of IT Infrastructure will lead the Group Information Technology Department’s infrastructure function, shaping strategy, architecture and operational excellence across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with the Group Head of IT Infrastructure and Architecture to align on roadmap and architecture.
• Research and recommend new technologies to improve infrastructure efficiency.
• Document the current infrastructure environment and develop policies, guidelines and processes.
• Provide consultancy for platform projects, design multi‑layer and hybrid solutions, and create detailed infrastructure documentation.
• Define and enforce architecture standards that meet customer, technology and industry requirements.
• Oversee incident resolution, capacity management and change management in line with CBZ guidelines.
• Lead group technology initiatives, mentor staff and ensure professional development.
• Manage vendor relationships, select hardware/software solutions and supervise infrastructure audits.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with infrastructure designs and ensure audit exceptions are addressed.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading IT infrastructure teams in a large organisation.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure architecture, hybrid technology solutions and strategic planning.
• Ability to analyse complex requirements and translate them into robust designs.
• Excellent stakeholder management, including vendor and internal client engagement.
