Assistant Manager of People & Culture

About the role

The Assistant Manager of People & Culture will lead the hotel’s HR strategy, aligning people initiatives with Avani’s vision and business goals. Working closely with the Hotel Manager and department heads, you will attract, develop, engage and retain high‑performing teams while ensuring compliance with labour laws and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Hotel Manager to design and implement the annual People & Culture strategy and budget.
• Analyse workforce trends and recommend actions to improve productivity, engagement, retention and succession planning.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding and talent pipeline development for critical positions.
• Ensure compliance with labour legislation, manage disciplinary processes, grievances and investigations.
• Represent the hotel during labour inspections, audits and handle work permits, visas and expatriate documentation.
• Drive performance management, coach managers, and oversee probation reviews, appraisals and development plans.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR leadership, preferably within the hospitality sector.
• Strong knowledge of local labour legislation and employment regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic HR initiatives.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for employee relations and stakeholder management.
