Assistant Accountant – Harare

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Assistant Accountant to join our finance team in Harare. The role supports the preparation of financial statements, maintains accurate records and assists with budgeting and audit processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain and update financial records with high accuracy.
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
• Reconcile bank accounts and produce reconciliation statements.
• Assist in budgeting, financial forecasting and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and statutory requirements.
• Support the preparation of audit schedules and related documentation.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional qualification or part‑qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ZICA) is an advantage.
• 1–3 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good analytical, organisational and communication skills.
