Technical Advisor – HIV Prevention & Health Technologies

About the role

PSI Zimbabwe is seeking a senior Technical Advisor to provide strategic technical leadership across its portfolio of HIV prevention, STI diagnostics, sexual and reproductive health (SRH) technologies, and differentiated service delivery approaches. The role will ensure programs are evidence‑based, aligned with national priorities, and consistent with PSI’s global standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the introduction, evaluation, adaptation, and scale‑up of innovative health products and service delivery models in Zimbabwe.
• Collaborate with PSI Global and regional teams to identify emerging technologies and assess readiness for integration into national programs.
• Provide high‑level technical assistance to the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC), implementing partners, and private‑sector stakeholders.
• Develop and adapt technical strategies, guidance, tools, and quality standards, ensuring robust quality assurance and continuous improvement.
• Represent PSI Zimbabwe in national, regional, and global technical forums, building strong stakeholder relationships.
• Oversee implementation science, operational research, and evaluations, ensuring compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.
• Mentor research and technical teams, strengthening capacity for evidence generation and use.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in public‑health program design, implementation, and scale‑up, preferably in HIV/STI prevention.
• Proven ability to work with government ministries, donors, and multi‑sectoral partners.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a track record of leading technical teams.
