Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the role

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its expanding Real Estate team in Harare. You will act as the client‑facing representative, guiding projects from feasibility through cost planning, procurement, tendering and post‑contract delivery while supporting the firm’s digital cost‑management transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, feasibility studies, and detailed cost plans.
• Lead procurement and tendering activities, including pre‑qualification, tender analysis and contract documentation.
• Manage contract administration, variations, final accounts and financial reporting.
• Interface with clients, consultants and internal teams at all project stages.
• Conduct cost risk analysis, value engineering and change control processes.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development.

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Full membership of RICS (MRICS) preferred.
• Strong commercial acumen with proven negotiation and communication abilities.
• Team‑oriented mindset and ability to build stakeholder relationships.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of construction methods and procurement routes.
• Sound understanding of contract forms such as JBCC, NEC and AIZ.
• Excellent measurement and cost‑planning expertise.
