Underground Mining Engineer – Gold Mine (Zimbabwe)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Underground Mining Engineer to join a well‑established gold mining operation in Zimbabwe. The role involves hands‑on planning, design and supervision of underground activities in a physically demanding environment, ensuring safety and production efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design and supervise underground mining operations to optimise ore extraction and comply with safety standards.
• Manage drilling and blasting programmes in line with production targets and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee installation, maintenance and performance of underground mechanical and mining equipment.
• Conduct regular underground inspections and provide technical guidance to improve operational efficiency.
• Coordinate mining crews and technical teams to meet production goals while maintaining strict safety management.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in underground mining, preferably gold mining.
• Physically fit to work in demanding underground conditions.
• Valid Mine Blasting Licence (Full Blasting Licence) is mandatory.
• Millwright qualification or a degree in Mining Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Proven leadership, problem‑solving and safety management capabilities.
