Senior Legal Associate

About the role

Red Couch Advisory is seeking a highly motivated and commercially astute Senior Legal Associate to provide strategic legal and commercial support across corporate advisory, investment, M&A and transaction services.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver legal support for corporate advisory, investment structuring, fundraising and commercial transactions.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts and related documentation.
• Advise on mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, disposals and conduct due diligence.
• Develop and implement legal, governance, compliance and risk‑management frameworks.
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal, regulatory and commercial risks for the firm and its clients.
• Conduct legal research and prepare opinions, advisory memoranda and reports.
• Liaise with regulators, external counsel, government authorities and other stakeholders.
• Support business development by providing legal input into new products, services and strategic partnerships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commercial Law.
• Minimum 8 years post‑qualification experience in a commercial law firm, corporate advisory, investment management, financial services or corporate legal environment.
• Registration with the Law Society of Zimbabwe.
• Experience in corporate advisory, commercial contracts, investment transactions, M&A, corporate governance and cross‑border transactions.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Law, Business, Finance, Corporate Governance, Risk Management or related field is an advantage.
