Senior IT Engineer – Remote (Zimbabwe)

About the role

Reboot IT is looking for a seasoned Senior IT Engineer to join its remote-first service delivery team. Based in Zimbabwe, you will work closely with US‑based engineers and a diverse client base, handling escalated tickets, projects, and proactive maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Own Tier 2 and Tier 3 tickets from diagnosis through resolution and documentation.
• Provide remote support to end users across healthcare, government, construction, and nonprofit environments.
• Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace tenants (mail flow, identity, licensing, security baselines).
• Manage Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID, Group Policy, and endpoint configurations.
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot networks – firewalls, switches, VLANs, VPNs, and Wi‑Fi.
• Support VoIP systems, printers, and other client‑side hardware remotely.
• Execute patch management, antivirus/EDR, security monitoring, and backup/disaster‑recovery tasks.
• Assist with email migrations, M365/Google Workspace deployments, and other MSP project work.
• Maintain client documentation, runbooks, and asset records to MSP standards.
• Follow HIPAA, NIST, and SOC controls for regulated environments.
• Communicate professionally with clients via written and video/voice channels.
• Participate in scheduled after‑hours maintenance windows or incident response.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on IT experience, with at least 2 years in a managed‑service‑provider or similar fast‑paced environment.
• Strong ability to explain technical issues to non‑technical users.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working independently.
