About the role

The Professional Heavy Mobile Equipment Trainer will deliver both practical and theoretical training to operators of articulated dump trucks (ADT), compactor/bulldozer/loader/tractor (CBLT), front‑end loaders (FEL) and tractor‑loader‑backhoes (TLB). This part‑time, on‑site position is based in Harare and supports AIOSHE’s mission to build a skilled, safety‑focused workforce.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule and facilitate training sessions for heavy equipment operators.
  • Conduct competency assessments and provide constructive feedback.
  • Develop and maintain clear training materials aligned with AIOSHE and regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrate safe operating practices and supervise hands‑on equipment training.
  • Maintain accurate training records and support certification processes.
  • Collaborate with safety officers and management to continuously improve training quality.
  • Ensure all activities comply with occupational safety, health and environmental regulations.

Required profile

  • Proven practical experience operating ADT, CBLT, FEL and TLB equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, coach or instruct technical subjects.
  • Solid knowledge of occupational safety, health and environmental regulations relevant to mobile equipment.
  • Experience developing training plans, lesson materials and assessment tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail in documentation and record‑keeping.
  • Relevant certification or qualification in mobile equipment operation, OHS or a related technical field (instructor or assessor credentials are a plus).
  • Experience in mining, construction or heavy‑industry environments is highly beneficial.
  • Willingness to work part‑time on‑site in Harare.
