Pre-Opening Café Manager

About the role

The Pre‑Opening Café Manager will lead the planning and launch of a new café within The Smile Restore Dental Clinics in Harare. This full‑time, on‑site position combines hospitality expertise with a patient‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define café operations, layout, equipment, menus and pricing.
• Coordinate supplier selection, negotiate contracts and manage inventory.
• Develop and document operational procedures and service standards.
• Recruit, train and schedule café staff, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Oversee daily café activities, cash handling, POS processes and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with clinic leadership to integrate the café experience with overall patient satisfaction and promotional initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in café, restaurant or hospitality management, preferably with pre‑opening projects.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and basic health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and extended periods during launch.
• Experience in a healthcare‑adjacent or patient‑focused setting is an advantage.
