Nutanix Engineer / Networking IT Support Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Nutanix Engineer / Networking IT Support Engineer to provide Break & Fix support on an on‑call freelance basis. The role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving hardware, virtualization and network incidents for enterprise customers while delivering professional service.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver onsite and remote Break & Fix support for networking and infrastructure issues.
• Deploy, configure and manage Nutanix HCI environments (AOS, AHV, Prism).
• Perform system upgrades, patching and lifecycle management.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, virtualization and network problems.
• Resolve network connectivity issues (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching).
• Implement and support backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Respond to critical incidents within agreed response times.
• Collaborate with global and regional teams on infrastructure and cloud projects.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and incident reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure, virtualization, networking or IT support engineering.
• Valid CCNA certification with at least 90% on the induction assessment.
• Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Ability to work independently in customer‑facing environments.
• Professional demeanor and strong customer‑service orientation.

Required skills

• Nutanix ecosystem (AOS, AHV, Prism).
• VMware and/or Hyper‑V environments.
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching.
• Backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Scripting with PowerShell and/or Python.
• CCNA certification.
