Laboratory Technician – Immunology

About the role

Africa Clinical Research Network (ACRN) is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician with a focus on immunology techniques, especially Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cell (PBMC) processing and downstream assays. The role supports multiple concurrent clinical studies, ensuring laboratory activities meet regulatory and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Complete laboratory worksheets, logs, and records in line with ALCOA+ principles.
• Prepare workspaces, materials, and equipment ahead of study activities.
• Support study start‑up and amendment tasks by ensuring laboratory requirements are met.
• Monitor and manage laboratory supplies, reagents, kits, and consumables, tracking stock levels and expiry dates.
• Assist with inventory control, stock rotation, and restocking processes.
• Perform routine equipment checks, reporting calibration, maintenance, or performance issues.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Sciences, Biology, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in a clinical, diagnostic, or research laboratory environment.
• Experience supporting protocol‑driven or regulated laboratory work across multiple studies.
