Information Technology Officer

About the role

Plan International is seeking an Information Technology Officer to provide comprehensive ICT support across its Zimbabwe operations. Reporting to the Head of Information and Technology, the role ensures secure, reliable and efficient IT services while driving digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Support ICT planning, policy compliance and act as Data Protection Officer.
• Design, implement and maintain servers, desktops, laptops, printers, routers, switches, firewalls and mobile communication tools.
• Provide first‑line technical support for hardware, software, networks, corporate applications and end‑users.
• Install, configure and monitor operating systems, LAN/WAN infrastructure and internet connectivity.
• Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures including network security, antivirus, patch management, encryption, backups and access controls.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, ensure business continuity and manage disaster recovery processes.
• Run the ICT helpdesk, keep support records and deliver remote and on‑site assistance.
• Conduct ICT inductions and set up user accounts for new staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience in ICT support within a multi‑site environment.
• Knowledge of government IT compliance and personal data protection regulations.
• Ability to develop and enforce ICT policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and capacity to work with programme and operational teams.
